It truly is a horrible habit and it confuses me why anyone would want to start in the first place. i just wish some people (especially teenagers) weren't so ignorant.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15276288348536093417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856118913828941953.post-76031342438745069202007-06-01T00:53:00.000-04:002007-06-01T00:53:00.000-04:00I never understood how smokers think that it throw...I never understood how smokers think that it throwing those butts out the window isn't littering. I guess it's the same people who think speed limits and stop lights don't apply to them either. Maybe the more ostrocised we make them feel by banning every public place from smoking, the more of them will get the point and quit.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02378547566593756176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856118913828941953.post-38894700265395194642007-05-31T20:58:00.000-04:002007-05-31T20:58:00.000-04:00Even though I have never smoked, I am much more al...Even though I have never smoked, I am much more allergic against it since I run. David and I get so discouraged when we're downtown and have to choose to sit inside instead of in the nice weather at the restaurants, because we don't want to be sat down beside smokers, especially with our 2 yr old with us.

just sucks....

Great morning run!!! good for you.Mendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00968363500551483010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856118913828941953.post-21681702040987582792007-05-30T13:39:00.000-04:002007-05-30T13:39:00.000-04:00Ouch! I think just a couple of months ago I finally broke it again for good. No more 5-6 smokes a week for me. It just doesn't make sense. It's amazing what people will do to themselves if the affects are very S-L-O-W. Great workouts! I'm not a morning peep either, but I'm working on it. Mental toughness is so important.Weshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11399853707178925175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856118913828941953.post-73166125978094001552007-05-30T11:59:00.000-04:002007-05-30T11:59:00.000-04:00Never Smoked that crap but my Dad did for years & ...Never Smoked that crap but my Dad did for years & I know it's a nasty addictive habit...

SO last year I picked him up at the airport as he flew in to spend a few days in Sunny FL...so me being the nice son that I am :-) I said go out and smoke a cigarette I will go look for ur luggage...cuz I Know he hadn't had a puff for at least 4 hours traveling and must be stressing out.

Well he said "that's OK I quit 2 weeks ago"...huh?! WTF!

I almost passed out right there, he has been smoking since he was 16 years old--YIKES but that's how it was back then...anyways I make NO excuses for him BUT so glad he quit because I was the one who bugged him for SO many years to quit, ahhh that was such a great moment!!

Now let's talk about this... Luckily in NY you can't smoke in public buildings. All the smokers are forced outside. I'd totally dig a smoke free planet too :)Marcyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14148093449696230770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856118913828941953.post-74068692388454247942007-05-30T10:13:00.000-04:002007-05-30T10:13:00.000-04:00Amen...I was a pack day smoker for 10 years and qu...Amen...I was a pack day smoker for 10 years and quit cold turkey 5 years ago. Maybe the little birds can use what the humans selfishly throw away to build a stinky nest for their newborn chicks.

I'm so glad I rid myself of the cigarette burden years ago. What a senseless addiction: expensive, self-perpetuating, unhealthy, inconvenient, and absolutely does nothing for you other than "calm" your nerves, bringing you back to normal. Huh? So, I pay $3+ for a pack of cigarettes that will help me feel normal? All that, and stinky breath and clothes, yellow teeth, and cancer? Yippee!

Great post, Robin!Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02232949586286921191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856118913828941953.post-63655918547222307562007-05-30T09:22:00.000-04:002007-05-30T09:22:00.000-04:00Smoke free planet...it will happen someday.
