Happy Treadmill Miles

Although I have been running for a few years I am continually amazed at how much the mind plays a role in this sport.

Once I was given the green light to treadmill run I hit the Sports Club and tackled some pretty good miles.

Thursday - 10 miles flat (9:30 pace)
Friday - 12 miles hills (9:10 pace)
Saturday - 10 miles hills (8:58 pace)
Sunday - no running
Monday - 11 miles hills (8:51 pace)

The hills workout option has really helped pass the time. I have burned myself out on my music list. Saturday I watched the Punisher on my sons PSP. Today I scanned back through my music list and then just tried to keep my mind busy with others that were working out.

Next Saturday will be my first day back on the trails and running outdoors. This I will welcome!! Pumping all the liquids with at least 2 quarts being electrolytes has really helped daily. I am feeling great and my energy is good.

Tomorrow I will also resume the resistance training. Total body core, upper , and lower will be worked. Really need to strengthen the quads.

Hope all had a wonderful holiday weekend.

Congratulations to all who raced this past weekend.

Robin

Happy to see you running again. But 11 miles at a sub 9:00/mi pace after a lay off?

Glad to see you are feeling better! Yes, the mind is so hard to tackle sometimes! You did it though!

Wow, all those miles on a treadmill? Yeah, you definitely must have been tricking the mind to go that long ;-) Awesome job!!

Yup, that's some nice running. I get so bored going around in circles. I don't think I could do that far on a mill, unless of course I had too! Great mental toughness!!

Taking hubby with ya to the trails? Have fun!!!

Holy S@#*!!! Those are some great miles on the mill!!!

It's so easy to run out of music! I face that problem every week or so.

I cannot believe you can run that many miles on the treadmill! You are one hardcore chick! I have still not done BodyPump! Can you believe it? My workout partner doesn't seem to think it will be *hard* enough for her :P I told her to get heavier weights ;)

I am so glad you are feeling good again. That's an awful lot of miles even for someone who has not had any problems.

i too, am amazed by how much this running thing is more about your mind than your body. i find myself wishing that my mind would jive more with my body & stop messing with my mojo.

i found a trail marathon - in december - about 6 weeks after my columbus marathon ... i'm tempted!
