I am BACK!!

My laptop computer literally blew up on Friday so I feel like I have been out of the loop!!

The trails were FANTASTIC on Saturday. The girls and I all meet and left out for our hour drive just after 6am Saturday morning. Once we arrived and stepped out of the car we were hit with this chill in the air. It was actually cool enough to give us all goose bumps. Wild! We geared up and headed out. I was prepared and ready. This was my first run with hills in weeks and my first run outside in two weeks. Although I was nervous I decided to keep a positive outlook and embrace anything that came my way.

After miles of hills, gravel, roots, waterfalls and so many laughs that I lost count we finished at just under 21 miles. Best part was that I was 100% PAIN FREE and my energy level stayed pretty high for the entire run.

Fuel and liquid intake:

Breakfast – 2 packs of low sugar oatmeal, cup of coffee, banana, and nutty balance bar with 8 oz of water.

Trail – 40 oz of water and 20 oz. electrolyte drink, 14 electrolyte caps, and 15 or so peanut butter and pretzel snacks.

Ride Home – 8 oz of an ice cold Mountain Dew (its tradition), 20 oz of electrolyte drink, a nutty balance bar and some of the best watermelon around.

I can hardly put into words what a great time I had with these girls. I feel so blessed to be going through this adventure with them and would not change one single thing. They rock!!!

Sunday I ran 5 miles on the treadmill. I was scheduled to run 10 miles but felt that I did not want to push my luck so 5 it was. Still happy to report that I am pain free. Thank you Mr. Tiger Tail!!!

I'll bet that lifted a huge weight of dread off you, also. Good job, and for the record: I can't imagine running 21 miles on trails...at one time...and being happy about it...

Maybe that tiger tail has some wacky contact narcotics in it, or something.

Wow, for 21 miles you don't need much fluid! Wish I could handle it that well.

I have ROLLED my legs all week and 2 days ago I had sharp like a charlie horse pain in my left calve that I diligently rolled away... I guess all that mountain climbing caught up to my calve a little-lol

I am going to go run a slow 5 miler tonight...I have recovered well & back to training now!!!
