Long Run Mix Up

This will be a different kind of post.  Simple thoughts... insane long run, and possible changes.

Annual doctors appointment this past week.
Stomach issues from this past years trail runs are a bigger concern than I thought.
What is next.  Another appointment with another doctor.
Doctors orders...10 miles running...rest...another 10 miles and so on.
More test on Feb. 1st
Do I need a plan B?
First Ultra race in 4 weeks.
Health is most important.
Can still train just have to split runs up throughout the day.
Thankful for the ability to still run.
Thankful for doctors who love running as much as me.
Thankful for my husbands support.

So today's long run went something like this.....
8:15 am - 8.5 miles on road with hills.  Light rain with a few signs of snow.
12:25pm - 7 miles on the treadmill.  I was holding a fast pace and loved it.
3:15pm - 6.5 miles on the road in total snow.  It was beautiful. Peaceful.
TOTAL: 22 miles

Funny how when something you are passionate about means so much more when you are faced with the possibility of a plan B.  Today's run seemed to last forever but I was able to get the miles in.  I love training, running, and the understanding that my husband showed during all of my running madness today.  He understands me and gets me for who I am.

You are truly blessed to have your husbands support you in your passion. Your health does come first,so take care of that & the running will take care of itself.

Pam Reed runs like that..sometimes breaking runs into 3 a day. I hope your next doctor's appointment goes well!

I hope that your next DR visit brings good news and there are no serious complications.

I guess that sometimes a plan B is better than no plan at all! :-)

No running right now is killing me. I'm thanksful for the bike and the pool! I'm hoping to test out the the healed flexor on Monday

Take care!

Spouse support can, in my opinion, make or break you.

Run, rest, run, rest then run again. Sounds like ultraRunning to me.

Great job getting the miles in.

Hope the doc finds a magic cure for your stomach.. Wish you the best.

Will be praying about yor doc's appointments - those can be stressful.

I need to drive somewhere just so I can run in the snow.

That's a tough way to get the miles in. You're lucky you have an understanding husband. I hope all is better soon.

I'm going through something similar probably - trying to educate my stomach about my plans!!! Not so easy, so take this step by step, health IS MOST important. Running 3 times a day and having those issues is hard. Take it easy Robin, races will always be there; it might sound harsh, but in the end it will be all worth it.

Hang tight and good luck to you.

Good luck with the doctor. You are so right that your health is the most important and it makes more sense to take care of it now rather than later when it is so much worse and could do so much more damages.

Maybe you can get some answers that will help in the long run. That would be really awesome for you.

Glad you got a keeper! :D

I hope you feel better soon and that things don't turn out to be too bad.

Yeah, Robin, gotta take good care of yourself first and foremost.

That's great you got to split your runs up like that and get it knocked out!
