I AM IN.......... almost

For some time now I have been researching and pondering over my next "big goal". Once I decided, researched tons of information, mapped out the entire training plan to get me there, and then got in touch with a great network of others in my area I could train with all that was left was to wait for registration day... Dec. 1st.

Scott's loss of his job was a hit but one that he has chosen to be positive about. For this I am most proud of him. He is a wonderful provider to our family and this is only a temporary place that he is in for a short time. With the hunt of a job I knew that signing up for the "big goal race" would not happen. Family needs always come first.

So when December 1st came I attempted one last try to somehow still make this "big goal" work. I sent an email to the race director and explained what our family was facing. What could it hurt? His response came today. He has agreed to hold a spot for me until our family has everything back on track. I am SO excited and VERY touched that he would do this.

So my Big Race Goal for 2009 is......

Beach to Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon on November 7th

This next year will be filled with tons of challenges not to mention hours of training. Scott and the boys are excited to know that I am finally going to go for it. So in the coming months I will post about the good and the bad of how this 36 year old woman reaches for Iron.
