Back To The Trails

How can it be possible to be this busy?!?!! Following the Ultra two weeks ago I had thought I would have some extra time on my hands to relax, do some things around the house, and maybe even visit some friends. This has not been the case.

My “mini plan” this week has been working pretty well. I have run just a few small runs, did some upper strength training twice, and hit the elliptical pretty hard. Tomorrow I am heading back to the trails with a friend of mine that I race with. We just could not wait any longer. The trails are calling to us so we must go.

Also wanted to share a new read that arrived this week.

I will be saving this one for vacation coming up July 1st. Each year I load up and dive into books while I sit on the beach from sun up to sun down. As I get older I don’t care to bake in the sun so last year I had a chair with an attached umbrella. It rocked!!!! Now all I need is an endless supply of ice cold margaritas.

Tonight I will be cooking dinner for my now 17 YEAR OLD. How did he grow up so fast? Very hard to see him needing his mom less and less as he begins to make his own way in life. Just part of being a parent I guess.

Happy Running!

Robin

Hey, when you find that magical margarita fountain, let me know! Man, you're making me want to go to Charleston now.

Please pass a happy birthday to Kenny from us, also.

Nice talking to you yesterday! Sorry about your friend, again. I'm with David - ahhh... Love Charleston! We're definitely going down to the beach soon.

Is that book about ultra's or just breaking through the wall - any distance?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNY!!!!!!

Oooooo sounds so nice. A book, beach, umbrella, and some margaritas!! That's what I need LOL

Awwwhhhhh HAPPY B-DAY to your son. It's funny how we're on different ends of the spectrum. I'm hoping for the day my kids aren't attached at my hip anymore LOL (I'm sure once they get up there in age I'll have a change of heart)

When Dee Dee and I went to Charleston for the first time last year, we loved it!! On the way home, we made a special detour to the beach so we could soak our feet in the Atlantic. I didn't want to leave :-) I'm with David, I want to be on the mailing list for the endless margarita thing too!

As far as the 17 year old goes, replace that sense of loss with that sense of pride, in him/her and yourself!! You've done a wonderful thing.

That looks like a cool book. I love the title alone! That's after all what ultras are about...

I'm such a dummy, ya'll! If I would have read down the side of the front - I would have seen the "ultra" word in there. Sorry for the goofball question, Robin. Uh-oh....

I've read both your book and the one that Bob recommends and they are both fantastic. I'm sure you will enjoy them.
