Marathon Workout

Let me start by saying that it was super exciting to see a crew form before my eyes for Badwater. Too funny when you think about a blogging community coming together for something absolutely nuts.

Goal achieved for the week! I had set out this past week to do three Body Pump classes to count as my core and resistance training. Twice this week I dreamed up that the class began at 4:30pm when in fact it did not begin until 6:45pm. So yesterday I arrived to discover this (again) and then decided to go ahead and get my run in. I headed down a frontage road that runs along one of the highways here and then back. It was so flipping hot but I made it. Pounded the fluids and then arrived back at the gym. With so much time to spare I jumped on a Cardio Wave machine for 20 minutes and then relaxed in the sauna for 20 minutes. Cool down for 10 minutes and that placed me in front of the class with just enough time to chat before another 60 minute workout. Needless to say I was spent by the time my marathon workout ended. Nice protein smoothie from the bar and I was headed home to shower and relax.

So with all of that said it was not a bad week at all. In the morning I will tackle a 14 mile trail run and then Sunday will be an 8 mile road run and Body Pump class. Should be two good back to back days of miles. Tonight I will rest and eat my pasta. Yummmmmm.

My new favorite, kick butt machine……

A single exercise that at the same time provides high calorie consumption, toning of the lower limbs and strengthening the knees. Did I also mention that I was sweating like a pig after just a few minutes? Loved it!!!
Happy Running,
Robin

We were looking hard at the Mt. Masochist 50 and were actually going to sign up for it but it had already filled up...which is probably good because I think the JFK is more realistic for a first one anyway. And yes, if you have any cool training tips or a cool plan I would love to take a look.

Oh, I guess a protein smoothie feels justified after all that work. So intense.
