Still Sugarless

Sugarless Update:
As I post this I am beginning day 4. For any one considering taking a 2 week no sugar challenge, know that is will be super hard and prepare for major ups and down. My irritability has lessened and today I woke up with no lingering headache. Sunday was the hardest day and I was just beside myself for most of the day. Almost gave up on the whole thing about a thousand times. The key so far has been good planning and being prepared in advance on what I will be eating and keeping busy. No plan only leads to struggles and weakness so I have to keep doing what I am doing.

Fitness Update:
Thankfully I have my running to battle the sugar challenge. Within three days I have ran 16 mile and have felt great on each run. Monday I did an all over weight / ab workout and loved it. Tonight I will opt for a spin class and then pick up another short run on Wednesday. Will have to be careful not to overdo it while I am kicking the habit…LOL!!

Thank you for all of your suggestions and comments. Following the two weeks I can add honey etc. but until then it can only be natural sugar found in fruits and veggies. I am eating LOTS of greens. Just last night I had a Fuji apple and it truly was the sweetest, best tasting apple I believe I have ever had in my life!! May all of this will help correct my GI issues and get my body more balanced… any change has to be better than what I was doing. Being healthy is my #1 goal!!

You are doing fantastic!! Think what it will be like to be on the other side, to run and run and not have the GI issues. Keep your eye on the prize :D

Hey girl! I was just reading Wil's Post about not eating refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup and stuff like that and though of you. Seems like she had some good advice that might help with your nutritional endeavors :-)

I am soooo impressed with you! Would love to know what your food plan is to keep you off the sugar..I'm going to need one if I attempt this.

I just ate a Mothers Double Fudge Cookie. They are like a rectangular Oreo only with a fudge flavored filling. Then I thought of your no sugar diet plan. It was really good but it made me feel so bad! Naw just kidding, I think I'll have another;-)

Have you given up on coffee and tea as well? I know you are not doing this to loose weight but kicking the coffee bean can really help level out your metabolism. Helps prevent the energy highs and lows. Perhaps one step at a time would be the best approach. Wouldn't want you to go into some sort of depravation rage or anything like that.

Keep up the good work!

Geesh I was just enjoying my KIT KAT :-) well good luck with ur sugar kick, I can do it to a point but need a hit of sugar to keep my sanity...

I did do my blood tests though a month back and that was positive ao I am ok and not too extreme on anything that I am eating...running also real helps us get away with some junk food now and then.

Happy Turkey Day Weekend!
