New 2008 Goals

2007 Summer Trail Running.... here we come 2008!

Last weeks meeting with the girls went great and planning for 2008 unfolded into what will be an exciting year of trails…trails…and more beautiful trails of running.

Drum roll please………

Holiday Lakes 50k – Feb.16 (Part of the Lynchburg Series)
Promise Land 50k – April 26 (Part of the Lynchburg Series)
Fort Mills half Marathon – May 18
Triple Lakes 40 mile – Oct.4
Mount Masochist 50plus - Nov.1 (Part of the Lynchburg Series)

So with the plan in vision I have mailed off my first race entry form for 2008. Next is to figure out where I am with the runs. This week’s long run calls for an 18 miler. Should not be a problem. I have managed to keep a decent base and am thankful for that! My weight training is going great and I am feeling stronger with each workout. Loving the cycle class but still need to make Yoga a part of my weekly workout. This is a MOST do this week!!

This past Saturday I enjoyed a beautiful trail run with one of the girls. Everything about it was fantastic! I welcomed the cool crisp air and we chatted the entire time. We just took time to enjoy everything around us. At one point Scott joined us with our dog Layla. This was her second trail run and she loved it just as much as the first.

Excited and thankful for the new goals and adventures that 2008 will bring. I am truly thankful for the ability to dream big enough and train hard enough to be a part of something so rewarding. Cheers!!

Wow, Robin, that is a fantastic schedule, you are such an inspiration. ( I always feel like a slug when I read everything you are doing!) Glad the weight training is going so well.

Hope you can submit 8 miles of your run to 8 on the 8th. Have a great week.

Those trails are beautiful out East. Have a fun 2008 on them.

Yes, it is one of my sisters from the Greenville area that will be going with me on my big 2008 trip. I'll have to start donating plasma again just to save money. :)
