Long Run and Naps

Two steps forward.. one step back.

So this past week I bit off more than I should have with my workouts.  The results were some heavy, hard, tired runs.  Since I am having to still break my runs up into 10 miles at a time (doctors orders) I seemed to have the worlds longest 24  mile run ever this past weekend.  To prove how fatigued I was I even took two naps this weekend.  Can not tell you the last time I have done that.

So this is the low down:

Friday: 10 miles on the treadmill.
Saturday: 14 miles on the road.
Sunday:  9 miles on the trails.

So I more than made up the 24 miles but not in the same day as I had hoped and all of them were solo.  Boring!!  Frustrated ...yes. I am just hoping that the doctors will give me the green light after my test this coming Friday. First ultra in the 16th of February.

Tomorrow I am taking the day off.  My youngest is turning 14 years old.  Special dinner with cake and ice cream.  The rest day will do me good.

Robin

That sounds like 3 pretty good workouts and I would be tired too. Hopefully your doctor will give you the go ahead so you can get ready for your upcoming races!

Sounds like three great runs but tiring none the less. Keep up the great work while you wait for the green light!

Smart girl, listening to the doctor. Love how you use the OCD to your advantage, too. Really admire your spirit that enables to just jump in with both feet.

Thinking about your OCD post, I read today on the ultralistserv that we suffer from ECD Endurance Compulsive Disorder and of course I thought of you!

Fingers crossed for Friday.

As for solo running, you've got an open invite to run some trails around here.

So, I need to run 33 miles in three days to get some really good naps? Who knew? :-)

Hope your test is positive news!!!

Hope the dr's visit goes well, Robin. I'm glad you're listening to the Dr. So many of us are too stubborn to do so. You're doing so well with your running.

Happy late Birthday Greg!!!!
