More Photos From Holiday Lake Race

It has now been four days since the race and I am still on my high from the days events.  This week I have spent time recovering with a few miles here and there and two Yoga classes. I plan on taking it easy until next week and then start ramping it up slowly again.  More to come on all that......
Dad walking me to the start of the race

Scott showing me some love at the finish.  Best part of the day!

I would post more pictures but the website is being a pain in the butt and it is taking FOREVER to upload one picture.  I have seriously been trying for almost an hour so three pictures is it folks.

Thanks for all of your awesome comments.  You all are the best!!!

On a side note:  I had more test on Tuesday for my "stomach issues" and every thing seems to be checking out.  Leaving the doctor puzzled but I will have to say that he will leave no stone unturned.  I am even more amazed that all three physicians that have treated me now are all runners and share the same passion that I do.  Very important!  They understand me without me having to say anything.

Off for now....  will update my AB lab test later this week.

Excellent pics! Love them, especially the one Scott is hugging you. He's so proud of you!

As are your friends! Stay on that high. You so deserve it!

How great that you had all that support. Great pics!

Hey, I know I never got that GO mag article to you, but it essentially boiled down to mid-race fuels containing too much of one kind of sugar can cause intestinal spasm. So, ultimately, fuels with a broad spectrum of sugar types (sucrose, glucose, etc) would be preferred. Also, Accel Gel may help, with it's addition of a small amount of protein to slow the blood sugar spike and smooth out the calorie boost.

Awesome pics! I especially like the victory hug :-) Maybe you just have a sensitive stomach. OK. Maybe we know that already ;-) Point is, you can train with that and learn how to beat it!!

adult and even old fartz non athletes just do not understand! I think they are mad that they never get the kick out of goals and achieving outside of the work arena. One works to live not lives to work! People say to me after mountain climbing assaults, long distance swimming and triathlons that I am mad....it is not I, but them. One gets a helluva kick out of these events. Good one!

Love the photos. Hope your husband is a good strapper!

You totally have to add the pic of Scott showing you some love at the end of the race to your sidebar. Too priceless!

Yes, Runner physicians are VERY important!! I agree that it's so helpful to have someone that does share the same passion.

Can't wait for the AB update! :)

What's this "take it easy" crap? Rest is waaaaay overrated! Jump back on that running horse and keep those miles up! Think about it... more races = more hugs!

It's nice to have a running doc. The last time I was in to see my doc. for what I suspected was a stress fracture of my tibia he limped into the room looking worse than me. He had just run the Portland Marathon. We spent about 5 min talking about my leg and 10 min. talking about how he could run a faster marathon.

Glad to hear the GI issues seem to be subsiding. At least they held off for your last race anyway! Take care and run happy!

You ARE really lucky to haveing running docs. My PT guy is too and everything is about working with me to do the running.
