Today I went to the gym to get what I would consider my long run completed. I have had some whispering in my left knee since the race (yes I am doing ice, stretching a ton, and rolling with my tiger tail like crazy) so I am listening and adjusting so that I do not have an all out injury to occur. So here is the mix of workouts:
Treadmill: 3.2 mile at 9:21 pace
Elliptical : 5 miles
Bike: 10 miles
Treadmill: 1 mile @ 8:32 pace
In just under 2 hours I completed a nice circuit and was able to keep my heart rate in a pretty consistent cardio zone.
So I will resume with my workouts as normal for the countdown to the next trail event. Want to continue to get stronger, smarter, and maybe a bit faster this year.
Ab Lab test update: I did manage to get this workout in twice this week. I have read the little booklet a thousand times but I still feel odd while doing a few of the exercises. Part of me thinks that I should ditch it and make my own plan based on ab workouts that I know burn my inner core but I will stick this one out and see if what WH promises really will happen. I want ROCK.HARD.ABS!!! :)

Hey, I think I have seen you running at Shelby Farms. I am good friends with Twig so we run together out there. Great time on the 50k.
Glad you had a good recovery week!! You nailed the catch! If your abs aren't rock solid, its cause you weren't doing the exercises right :-)
Good recovery week(can I convince ya to come to my house & do the same thing?..;-)). So looks like the jury is still out on the ab test. I agree that you may have ditch that routine for one you KNOW works.
Bring on the rock hard abs!! I want to see the end product of all this work too. You kow because I'm lazy and would never do it myself :P
Recovery can be a good time to refresh and refocus, but I don't know if cleaning bathrooms would do it for me. Good for you! Sounds like you have the hunger to get back out there and get some miles under your shoes, which is exactly what the recovery should do.
You have to finish the rock hard abs routine so I will know if it's truly worth it. Nice week!
Every inch!? Yowza. I did a few drawers and I was pretty proud. :D
Don't we all want rock hard abs? Good to hear that your house is clean and that your body seems to be coming back from the 50K. Can you come over and clean our house too?
Oh, and that post race celebratory beer is usually shared between several runners. Otherwise drunken mayhem would ensue.
Nothing feels better than having a super clean house, I just wish someone else would do the cleaning for me!
i like that workout mix idea ... i should try the same!
Now I just feel guilt, our house so needs a "deep clean", tell you what I'll do the abs routine for you and you can do the dusting...how's that sound?
Glad you had a nice week following the race! Gotta recover! I want to see the rock hard abs too. I know if anyone can do it, you can!
Glad the recovery went well. What would I need to do to get you to come over and clean my house? Good luck on the Abs Testing.
I need to get rid of my kids for a weekend and completely scrub the entire house, too! Way to get back to the workouts...I am hoping that rock hard abs pays off ;)
Glad to see that your are getting a good recovey week in.
Cleaning the house, not sure if I would find that relaxing thou..
If you come up with a good plan to get ROCK HARD abs with not alot of training involved, sign me up for that :)
Hey -- Found your blog through Mendy...
I'm doing the Women's Health ab workout, too. Six-pack here I come! :)
