Race Time

This week has been pretty low key. I have been so paranoid about getting sick leading up to the race that I have wanted to live in a bubble. Everyone seems to have something around me. My son seems to have the never ending cold and has just felt crummy.

Anyway here is my taper week workouts:

Monday: 3.5 mile run @ 8:41 pace. Yoga followed.
Tuesday: hard rest. Pj’s by 5pm… it was dreamy!!
Wednesday: 3 mile run @ 8:27 pace. Faster than I wanted but it felt good. Yoga followed.

We had couples Yoga last night and my sweet husband agreed to join me. To his surprise he enjoyed it and even said that he could see himself coming back. The right instructor makes all the difference and Kelly is the best around!! Scott did fantastic and I loved having him there with me.

So now all that is left is today. I will rest and pack for our trip tomorrow. For odd reasons I am not nervous about the race. Just not going to put added pressure on myself. If the stomach starts acting up I will try my best to deal with it and finish as fast as I can. Strict cut-off at aid stations during the entire race so I do not need to waste any time going potty. More test follow next week so until we have all of the finial test results in I will take each run and race one at a time.

Now on to the LAB TEST update:

I did do the rock hard ab workout twice this week. First attempt was awkward and strange. Really did not feel the burn that I thought I would. Second attempt was better. Form will be key in the success of this. Sad to report that I am not chiseled just yet so I will continue with my little test.

Race report will follow some time on Sunday. Holiday Lake 50k (really 35 miles) here I come!!!

I saw that ab article too, but did not have the bravery to try it for 30 days. So glad you will be the guinea pig.

Good luck with the race!

That's great that Scott liked the yoga class & wants to keep doing it.

I agree that you will need to have & keep good form to make that ab workout a success.

I wish you the best of luck w/ the race!
