An Unexpected Gift

If you have read any of my blogs you would know that I have one of the most supportive husbands on the planet. Not only does he understand my need to train for hours at end each week but he allows me room to explore and dream of new adventure in this running madness that I love and hate at times. He is always willing to do whatever it takes to help me reach my goals and come race day he is out on the course racing from aid station to aid station just to cheer me on to the finish.

A few days before the Holiday Lakes Trail race he gave me an unexpected gift. Out of the blue and for reasons only to remind me why I do what I do….

A book… not just any book… a book about me… my thoughts… my dreams… his love and support… my families love and support… and even some of the comments from you bloggers. He searched through past post and comments from you guys to remind me that I am growing and I am getting stronger. It brought focus back to the importance of what all of this means in my life. With each step and journey I have been on I have become a stronger woman and I know that I am loved and supported by so many… including those of you I have never met.

So to my dear husband…. You touched my heart in the deepest place with this gift of true love. The most thoughtful gift I have ever received! I am sure you knew by all of my tears as I turned the pages.

May we all realize how blessed and lucky we are to have each other in our lives!

Robin

I love you so much. You deserve everything you get in life as a result of your hardwork, dedication, and devotion - not only to me, but your friends, your family, and your passions.

Last year was THE BIRTH OF AN ULTRA RUNNER...This year - oh, who knows, but it will be special, that I can guarantee.

Now....RUN! ! ! !

I sooooo want to make an excuse to come over and see it!!!! How very cool your husband is. He's very admirable, and you are too for all that do for the sport. You're a huge inspiration, Robin. Don't ever forget that!

Shit, Mendy's already seen this. Thanks a lot, Scott! Now I have to do something to try and catch up. That's it! You are out of the circle!!

That's pretty awesome, Robin. Definately something to reflect on over time and to remind you where you came from and how you got where you are (and are going).

You are definetly a lucky girl..

Running around and crewing for you at ultra's takes a special person.

Beacause it takes a kinda of insane person to run them :)

The book, now that's cool, hopefully it has a place holder for a "buckle"

you are so bringing that book with you when you come to stay here & run the mini - i can't wait to see it!!! how lucky are we to have such supportive husbands?

seriously - that is a great gift!! i adore my husband - he is the greatest guy ever, but he lacks a certain something in the creative gift giving department - maybe scott can hold seminars!!

Gosh, Robin! I read this earlier today at work (and was super pissed that I couldn't reply right away) and had tears in my eyes. This is just truly one of the most heartfelt, emotional gifts that can be given. I can't believe that Scott even went through your comments. You seriously have one of the good ones!

Very Cool! What an awesome gift Robin! You know, there is now way that we could do this without support from our families and spouses (or SO for those not married) It's truly not a hobby but a lifestyle!

Way to go Scott!! You rock dude!

I'm alittle late with this, but this just might be the sweetest thing I've ever read! How adorable. Support like that doesn't come around too often.. and it's support like that which can move mountains! ...or at least help you run up them!

Scott, I don't know you, but WAY TO GO!!!
