Making 50 Miles on Saturday

Saturdays ride was a success! I joined up with two other friends at the local YMCA and then rode to a local Tri shop to join more cyclist for part of their store ride. I must admit that all the pace groups were lumped together and this made me uncomfortable. After about 10 miles of this we broke off to continue our ride along some of the most beautiful countryside around. This is where I really began to enjoy the miles. We talked and enjoyed the views as we worked our way back to the YMCA to finish up with 47 miles. I quickly jumped off my bike and laced up for a 3 mile run (9:20 avg. pace) and then straight to an ICE bath.

Mother’s Day was more than perfect. My husband and two boys really out did themselves. My day was very special and one I will never forget. Even had them join me at the Sports Club for my swim workout. We had so much fun together!

I have been adding up my monthly totals daily on my blog. I love running home following a workout and updating the numbers. I am such a "tool" girl.

**On a side note I will report that I took a spill clipping out at a stop sign. I wasn’t even moving!! Clipped out and leaned the wrong way….and… down I went. It was funny and all I could do was laugh at myself. The entire group was able to enjoy in this little show I out on. Scraped up my left arm and my backside is bruised and cut up some. To be standing still it sure made a nasty mess on my backside.

Glad to hear you had such a great Mother's Day!

See... that whole clipping thing is what scares the begeezes out of me! I haven't had a bike since my pink Huffy. Don't think that would appropriate for a tri... :)

Glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day!! I've seen and done that particular "learning" exercise many times, and I got the scraps and scars to prove it!!

Very nice bike ride and run!!

I've had more falls on my bike from standing still than from actually moving ;)

Glad you had a great mother's day!

Robin - I was "the" girl on the street with my bike!

Pink banana seat, white basket with plastic daisies, custom-made pedals so I didn't have those plastic ones... even upgraded to some pink and white streamers coming out of the handle bars! :)

Great brick workout, no doubt you needed an ice bath after!

I've done that before on my bike, in the middle of a four way intersection. NOT pretty. Or funny really so I comiserate with you.

Happy belated Mother's Day; glad it was great!

Nice ride and run!! That's a long ride, glad you had fun. I'm building up to it but after my almost-30 miler this weekend I thought glad I was to be done. I can't wait to be where you are! Nice brick run too.

Happy Belated Mother's Day- sounds like a lovely one. :)

I'm sorry you took a spill but good for you to laugh it off. I know it's bound to happen to me too and I'll probably do it in front of a hundred people.. Oh well!! :D

Great job on that brick. You are going to be so ready for IronGirl. So far, my only spills on the bike have been at stops. Better to spill stopped, then to spil while moving

If you haven't already you should check out Beginner Triathlete. You can track all of our numbers there and it even makes a neat graph. I am currently obsessed with my graph. :>D
