Not for Sissy's

I continue to be excited with the changes I have made in my workouts.  Tonight I jumped in a FIN class at the last minute.  All of the lap lanes were full so I thought ...why not... it will be fun.  It is a 45 minute class where you wear swim fin's and circle swim for an entire 45 minutes straight.  You move the entire time with no rest.  Really works the hips and legs.  The class flew by and it was a fun change in things.

A quick 3 miles on the treadmill and now I am home.  Scott and I will ride 30 miles tomorrow where I will practice my drafting and move my chain to the large ring.  I just love it all.... the swimming... the riding... and the running.  Exciting stuff if you ask me.  Comfort zones are for sissy's :).

I challenge you all to try one thing new this week..... you may love it!

It won't be liver and onions but I'll see what I can come up with for your challenge.

The fin class sounds like a great workout.

Oh no you di'nt! ROFLMAO!!

You are turning into quite the animal. Grrrrrr! You and Scott are racking up the miles! Woot!! That's funny you mentioned the big ring. I stayed in the small ring for my entire 56 mile ride Sunday. Silly me :-)

Hey Robin,

Thanks for stopping by. I like your style looking for new things to try. I agree with the DNF versus DNS theory. I have two DNF's. One at 100 miles and one recent one at 100k. I am not sure how many DNS's I have, but it is not many depending on how you define a DNS. I did have a DNS at a 100 miler last year, which has factored into the decision to hold off on another 100 miler attempt for now. Good luck on your training for the Masochist. I hope to make it for that race one of these years.

wait a minute? you haven't been in the big ring yet? its like a turbo booster on the downhills ... no more ghost-pedaling, put it in the big ring & GO! you'll be amazed at how much more 'grip' you get ... once the speeds get up in those pace lines, you have to get in the big ring to maintain it! have fun!!! i love that you are loving the bike!

FIN class sounds neat!

Sounds like fun.

I normally ride in the big ring, only shifting to the little one for certain hills. I'm just now learning how to shift to the little ring without dropping the chain. Oooops. :-)

wow you really are just going to town with new things! I've been trying to do weights, abs or yoga every day with running and it really is pretty amazing the changes.

Inspiring to read what you're doing. You should come this way for the Lowcountry Splash next weekend - 2.4 mile swim in Charleston Harbor, under the Cooper River Bridge.
