Run,Ride,VACATION TIME

Gotta Run Girl welcomed the trail run with open arms on friday afternoon.

I was so excited getting my things together for my first trail run in some time and just as fast as I could wrap my work up I was off for a HOT long run.  My trail shoes fit like a glove and as the dust of dried up dirt fell from my shoes it made me only think about how awesome these shoes are.  They hold memories of every step I have taken when I am discovering myself on these trail runs.

I was solo on this run and kind of looked forward to testing out the legs and pushing it a bit. The heat was a killer but overall I was pushing it pretty good.  Other than the horse flies it was mainly uneventful.  I estimated 9 to 10 miles and was pleased as I walked back to the car.  On my drive home I passed a bank clock that read 95 degrees.  It made me wonder what the heat index would have been.

I slammed some major fluids when I arrived home and took a cool shower.  What a great feeling to be back at it.  No pain.  Everything felt good.

After my 7am cycle ride on Sunday followed by a run and hopefully one more swim and I will officially be on vacation and off with the family for our trip to Sedona,AZ.  I will completely plug into spending every minute with them.  My son and I will run while we are out there but I will not let my training dictate our vacation plans at all. Scott and I will have the pleasure of meeting Phil and having diner with him while we are there. I am super excited about meeting him in person.  He was one of the first blogs I ever read.

So this is it for me for the next week.  When I return I will catch up with all you fitness crazies. Lots of pictures will follow of our trip.

Robin
