I placed first in my solo July 4th race. Just me, Scott, and his mountain bike and the race began with 3 miles of gently rolling hills. For the most part the course is flat with three slight hills. No water stations but the one bottle on Scott's bike. I did catch and pass two runners (that was for you Phil) but they did not seem to want to be a part of my event at all.
As we rounded the last turn Scott started telling me that he thought I was in lead and could take this race if I kept pushing on. This fired me up and I did everything to maintain and carry it through to the end. The finish line was the entrance to our neighborhood. Sadly, all of the spectators had gone and only Scott and I could celebrate in my victory.

All kidding aside.... this was my fastest run EVER!!! Sorry if it sounds as if I am bragging but even I am amazed at what I just completed. If only I could have opened the gates in the Iron Girl event last week. Oh well.... there will be other events. Todays event was the best. Glad Scott pushed me all the way to the end. What a husband!!
Happy 4th to ALL!

Oh heck you have every right to brag (not that it sounded like bragging to me, more like pride and confidence in your accomplishment) with a pace like that.

Awesome job! It doesn't matter when you have your fastest run...only that you have it. Well done!
I LOVE it! Hilarious ("all the spectators had gone home.."). Very creative (and funny!) way to post an amazing accomplishment. That is SMOKIN'! Could your husband even keep up with you running so fast?!?! Congrats!
That, my precious friend, is what I expect you to do come September 25(or whatever the date for our 5k is!)!!! I know you can repeat that--you may be even faster by then!!

Yay! Great Race Report. :) That is an amazing time, especially for a solo effort. I've always pulled off a much faster time in a big race due to adrenaline the "race day magic" or whatever, so you would probably even drop a minute or two. Well done!! :) Happy Belated 4th. :)
Robin, that is so awesome! Congratulations! I am in awe... and so happy for you!
