The weather here is perfect and I managed to get in 7 miles before it got dark. I felt as if my effort was decent but as I looked at the pace information I could not beleive my eyes. I averaged a 10 minute pace!! My norm for this distance would have been 8:45 per mile so I was a bit blown away.
My sleep was not the best and as the day has gone on today I feel worse and worse. Since I have 31 miles on Friday I am going to rest tonight and skip my 10 miler. I have went back and forth with this all day but I would rather feel better for Friday and rest tonight.
Thanks Jackie for helping me see this!!

Definitely get the rest. The run won't do you a bit of good if your body isn't capable of absorbing the training. You will be in a fitter state if you get rested and get well first. I hope it happens quickly.
Oh no, not you too!! There is definitely something going around. Definitely better to take some time off now while you can to beat the bug. Hope you and I are both feeling better soon!
Yes, focus on the key runs! I would focus on the miles and not pace!! Hope you feel better!!!
Oh crap. Sorry to hear you are sick. Rest up and I hope you feel better soon.
Listen to your body, better to miss some training and be well for MMTR.
Eat, sleep and relax.
Mike
oh no! i hope you feel better. definitely rest up!!
SO...Mama Jackie is helping me out? Love it!! Yes, I do agree with her....rest...and in this rain-yuck! We're headed down to Heritage Park for a xc meet in this stuff. Call me if you need anything. Let that body do some healing.
Love ya,
Susan
58 miles for the week? Hey, save some for us! Take the time off so we can catch up... I think that's possible.
Get well soon.
Take a good rest and watch some good movies, or read a book. Hope you feel better soon
Nuts! Good idea to rest tonight -- hopefully you'll feel good for your run on Friday.
Not the dreaded "S" word.
The main reason why I am not looking forward to high mileage during winter.
Rest up.
I know exactly how you feel. Sucks so bad to get sick. Try to rest up and take lots of vitamin c!
the rest will do you FAR more good than the 10 mile run - so dont worry about missing/skipping it & put it out of your head!
zicam & salt water ... feel better girl. and REST!
I hope you feel better soon! Don't worry too much about the miles just worry about resting up and feeling better!
restttttttttttt up!! no time for any long term sickness....so rest shake it off and step up :-)
I am exhausted and going to bed sooooon and anytime before midnight is really early so I must be beat.
Get better!!
I feel terrible...I think I jinxed you! I started feeling bad on Tuesday. I had to leave work Wednesday at lunch and today (Thursday) I'm home sick. Rest, rest, rest. You will be over this in a few days so don't do anything stupid - you have time and a couple of days off are not going to change all the effort you have put in up to now...G
Yep, I've been out with a rare cold as well. Since I have no major events pending I've taken 5 days off from running. I'll start again on Friday and dial it in for Marine Corps Marathon.
Get as much rest as you can!
Cheers!
Rest up and feel better soon - it's that time of year when things are going around. My husband was sick this week.
Tomorrow you will feel better and you will have an awesome run. MMTR is right around the corner...stay focused. Hope you feel better.
Wow Robin! Sorry to hear that your getting whatever it is that is going around. I had the exact same experience today when I went out for my 8 miler!
Rest up! Your body will thank you and repay you tenfold!
Want us to bring you some soup? :-)
Rest up and if required push back the 31 miler, you body won't thanks you for fighting through it, save it for race day!
Rest up now while you can so it will hopefully clear up quickly.
Feel better
Don't worry to much you'll get better. I'm out with an injury and will have to wait 3 months before I can tackel my next marathon!
Rest up and feel better soon!
sending healthy vibes your way
((((HEALTH)))
Rest up, girl. Seems the flu is going around. Skipping a few runs won't harm you now.
Get some rest, you might even feel stronger afterwards..
Hope you feel better soon.
