On Track

Spinach Smoothie Love

Coach x 2 weeks = one tired girl

So to recap this past week I will break it down in small sections:

Cycle - Although I still hate the stupid isolated leg drills I do see improvement in avoiding the "clunking" noise. I have REALLY been focusing on my pedal stroke. All in an effort to correct the awful rocking motion and I am very pleased to say that Scott mentioned much noticeable improvement following a ride together over the weekend. SUCCESS!!

Strength Training: I have lost track with how many weeks I been incorporating a steady 2 session per week routine. I would guess 8 or more weeks. This week I will change up the reps and rotation of some of the exercises. Looking forward to this. Even this I can see improvement in. Do you see the light bulb coming on?

Running: With all of coaches prescribed riding workouts (5-6 per week) I have been doing good to get in a 3 to 5 mile run once a week. So when a fellow friend wanted to run 20 minutes following our long ride on Saturday I worried that I would be a slug and slow him down (8:19 mile 1, 8:30 mile 2, and 8:19 pace for the last of the remaining time). I was more than pleased and once I realized that 20 minutes was over... relief.......LOL!

So what does all of this mean? Am I making improvements that will show in our first Spring Race in 4 WEEKS? One would only hope so.

Robin

I hate those one-leg bike drills too but reading your post gives me hope they will do some good for me too someday ...

Hey, what type of race are you doing? Is it a road race, time trial, criterium, hill climb, other ???

i hate those leg drills as well but they are well worth it. It was actually pretty funny as today my wife was on the trainer next to me as i was on the couch and i got her to try the i leg drills for the first time. clunk clunk clunk. i had a good laugh but told he to keep practicing as it will make her faster when she gets out on the road.

Do you always drink that particular Smoothie in that room? The color of the drink nearly blends with the background color of the walls? :) Great effort, and stong running paces.
