460 DAYS......

This is the number of days my husband WAS unemployed. We would have never thought in a million years that when his previous company made drastic cuts in November of 2008 that it would take so long to find employment. As of Monday he will report to work as a Quality Engineer with a local company. To say we are thrilled, relieved, and thankful are just to small of words to describe it.

Many stressful weeks have came and gone and somehow we made it. Thank god for exercise!! lol! Even last night after he completed 1 day of employment processing before reporting on Monday it still seemed unreal. It will take some time for me to relax. Having created no new debt of any kind, no loans to repay of any kind we can now focus on giving MUCH LOVE to our savings account that pretty much saved our ASS this past year.

So even though I would love to sign up for each and every race that my heart can dream of, purchase several gadgets that I think I need but really just want we will just be very thankful that Scott is working.

For the next few days I am taking vacation and we are going to HAVE FUN and RELAX. Biking, dinner with friends, running, and plenty of smiling!

Saturday - This will be my first ever Spring Series Race with my new team. Yes I am nervous. Yes I am questioning everything. Yes I want to have fun and just use it as a learning experience. Let the sufferfest begin :)

Back with reports next week!

I have just started to keep a blog myself and review others and came across yours through Marlene. That is such great news that your husband is back to work. I can only imagine what kind of year and a half you must have gone through. Not to say that you took things for granted but I am sure going forward you will have a different appreciation for even the little things. Enjoy your vacation!

Awwww, I'm so happy for you guys. It really is rough out there. I think if I wouldn't have my sport which keeps me going and positive I'd be devastated by this situation.
Cheers!

Congratulations to Scott, yourself and your savings account.

Good to hear you're not one of those couples that think credit cards are the same as a savings account. Mine is saving my butt too. All those old values finally paid off.

Have fun, celebrate, enjoy. Time for some spring thaw in your life!

OMG, GREAT News. having been through a similar experience and being single, it is very hard to understand all the ups and downs you go through.

Now, go and enjoy your first road race and know that you've got all of us pushing you (and your family) forward.
