#24

Just yesterday I had the task of running an all out race pace for 3 miles following a 10 minute warm up. This would give necessary info coach would need to set my running paces. Only issue was that it was sleeting/raining/snowing and running this on a treadmill did not fit in within the time I had available so an outdoor, cold run it was.

After the warm-up was completed I opted to run the same 3 mile course I had timed myself on 4 weeks ago. I had said that I would start the timer and would not look at it until I was finished. So off I went, music pushing me, thinking that this was harder than it should be, thankful that it would only be for 3 miles, feeling little stinging pieces of ice hitting my face, and wind gust…unreal. I could not wait for this to be over.

Results – 3 miles 23:18 (avg 7:46 per mile)

Results from 4 weeks ago – 3 miles 24:12 (avg 8:04)

Although this course has no major hills there are some very slight inclines. I was tanked but pleased with the results. So I have sent the results to coach and will await all of the pace, zone, hurt you numbers that will surely follow. I asked to be pushed so I know it is coming.

Last night was also Scott’s first basketball game in a league he recently joined. He played all during high school and college and he loves it. It is all about enjoying your passions right?!! I LOVED every minute of his game and am already looking forward to next week. I was yelling and cheering like crazy. You would have thought it was a playoff game…lol.

Late, but healthy dinner followed once we returned home. Chicken soft taco (minus seasoning mix), lettuce, tomatoe, white beans, and cheese. SO good!!

This afternoon I have a 2 hour trainer ride loaded with climbing repeats. Sure wish I could have joined the group last night that did this workout but Scott’s game trumped it (family first!)so I am solo on this one. Should be fine once I get plugged into it.

Great job on the cold and windy 3 miler! I soooo feel your pain for this terrible weather. I'm so jealous you are having a coach. I'm sure having someone covering your back or kicking your ass is a great motivation.

Keep the pace coming:-)

If life would let me, I would play football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tri, you name it :-) I think its pretty awesome that adult leagues are there for us to get our game on!

I am doing a 5K race in two weeks to get my pain on...

Great improvement!! I think it's good to run time trials on the same course if you can.

And Scott does look happy. I'm sure you are his favorite cheerleader :-)

That's a great pace to run all by yourself in the nasty weather! Great job. We did miss you last night at the trainer session.

I ran 4 in that icky stuff!! The sleet slapping my face was not pleasant, but we've run in worse conditions!! Very good pace, fast one! Scott looks cute in his uniform! Austin's playoff game is tonight--it was cancelled due to the weather on Tuesday!
Hugs!
