Gin Sprints

After throwing a 40th birthday party for my Sister on Friday at my house and enjoying a few Gin & Tonics I woke up on Saturday morning and decided to head out for my long run of the week. Scheduled 8miles. Somewhere around mile three I went into a full out sprint…..into the woods…and arrived back home 3 more miles later with one less of something than I started my run with. LOL! We now call this the Gin Sprints. LOL!!!

Sunday we joined a group of friends for an Epic ride to Flat Rock, NC from Furman University. With the heat and humidity I managed to go through 6 24oz bottles of liquid. Not counting what I slammed down when we made a quick stop or two. Tons of climbing and managed to descend much better in rides past. We finished with a nice 70 miles. Have I mentioned what an AWESOME cycling family we belong to. I love it!!

Add in another cookout at Scott’s parents following the ride and at 7:30pm last night we were in bed. Sun was still up but we did not care. When you are tired you are tired. Plain and simple. Now I am rested and ready for a new week.

Bizarre about the sock!!

I can't wait to get back to doing more cycling soon too. And, yep, I'll be drinking a lot too as the heat is ON!
