I cannot deny that I LOVE having a planned workout schedule in front of me each week. I am not a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of girl when it comes to training. When I arrived home on Wednesday I fully knew that Scott and I had a ride planned and in place. I quickly changed and within 15 minutes we were rolling out of our neighborhood…headed straight into a storm. Now even though we could see the dark clouds in the distance I convinced Scott that we would be fine and he agreed. We made our way through our warm up section and right into the rain. Now riding in the summer rain is no biggie until I start seeing lightening and hearing the thunder roll. Let’s just say that is was a sprint session all the way back to the house where I quickly put my bike on the trainer in the garage and finished my ride.
Now by the time I was finished the sun had came out (just my luck) so my son joined me for a quick 1 mile run where the sky opened up again and soaked us again. We just laughed. Upon returning home I headed up to shower and …you guessed it…sun was out again.
This morning I began my trainer ride in the garage at 5am for a 30 minute session. Goal was to maintain a 155 bpm with a high cadence at 100 rpm. Goal achieved but not easy. I then quickly put on my running shoes and headed out for a 3 mile run. It was still dark even by the time I finished and RAININGJ.
Still I loved it and love the way it starts my day.

Sounds like some crazy weather! Summer rain is nice... not so much the thunder/lightening!
Saturday sounds FUN!
Now that sounds like my kind of luck with the weather! Way to get 'er done anyway!
you are justa training your little heart out! i miss the bricks...
Did your Garmin roll its eyes and say "You're in your garage silly"? :D Kudos on adapting the plan and getting it done.
And-1 on the fear of lightening. Used to run the boat flat-out down the St John's river in Jacksonville to say ahead of ferocious thunder storms with lightening strikes closing in all around us.
My luck almost ran out at home in the shower. Saw a fast moving squall line moving in from the sea and jumped out of the shower and ran down the stairs stark naked. The lightening struck and fried almost every piece of electronic equipment in my house. You fear it or you get to be a statistic. Real danger.
Some days are like that...just get it done...anyway possible...I will train in anything except lighting...one time even ran in a hurricane...but not lightening...
Crazy weather here too. It is definitely cutting into my training (I suppose I could go to the gym, duh)....
Have a GREAT time tomorrow, sounds like it will be a blast.
I'm thinking, tomorrow, I will do my 6 mile TT on the trainer. Should be fun. Or not...
Oh my look at your leaky knees...best cure for is a tap on the thigh!
