The great outdoors....
Camping was incredible. Nothing like sleeping to the sounds of crickets and frogs. The best part is the camp fire and the laughs we had around it. Top all of that with hot dogs, s'mores, hamburgers, and the hiking was well needed to burn off all that yummy food. It only took three baths to get our dogs clean just before she slipped into a coma when we returned home.
My dad and step mom even joined us for dinner one night.
It truly was a great weekend and we are already looking forward to camping again later this year.
On the running front: I ran 3 miles this morning at a 8:45 pace and then another 3 miles tonight at a 8:50 pace. Both felt good and I will continue to run these smaller, double runs this week in preperation for the 50k this weekend. Getting very excited!!!
Happy running.

Great to see you guys back, and glad you got to unwind way up there in the mountains. Sounds like fun, and I'm actually pretty jealous of the down-time.
you look pretty chilled!!!! thanks for sharing.
I just noticed: poor Greg looks like he's having a horrible time. That's a tough age, though. Hope those were just the "off" moments when the pics were taken.
Looks like FUN!!! Man, I can't remember the last time I went camping. Geez, it's gotta be since I was a kid. The camp food alone makes me want to go LOL You and the fam look GREAT!! Good job with the running too!!
Ahhh... to be back in civilization (all the way from Paris Mtn).. :-) too cool! Sounds like a fun time, glad you got to unwind and what perfect timing right before your first Ultra!!! I know you are excited...
Fantastic runs too!
ROFLMAO, Yeah 1997, HS track. Never really ran after that either. Once or twice here and there just for exercise but never put myself in any races. Then when Lisa (J~Mom On the Run) started running last year, I slowly got interested in it again (we "know" each other from our kids). Seeing how much she liked it kinda pushed me back in :)
You are doing a fifty K? Cool! That'll be a blast! Looks like you guys, well most of you :-) had a great weekend!! Did I mention I love your name? That's my first name too ;-)
Great camping photos. Enjoy your taper this week and best of luck on your 50K this weekend ... it should be a lot of fun.
What a way to spend the holiday weekend--what fun!
