Running for Wings

What a fantastic run last night. I joined my husband down town for a run through our beautiful city park. I knew the distance would not be long but having this time together running was such a nice treat. Currently he is training for an August Tri so I have offered to join him some on his runs for a little motivation (move it , move it). It did not take long for the summer rain to join us and actually felt rather good. Towards the end of the run I mention wings and beer and amazingly my husband was running much faster than just the minute before. We were wet and a little winded but the wings and beer took care of all of that instantly. SOOO gooood.

Next week I will focus and get serious again. Official training begins for another 18 week cycle. This will be my third cycle this year. No complaints as you all know how I have been whining about the recovery stuff.

Tonight I will take an off night. We are packing a picnic dinner and joining some family for a Blues outdoor concert. Hope the afternoon storms stay away today!!

Happy Running!!
Robin

Enjoy your evening and I will do a no-rain dance for you all in Greenville. I enjoy reading your blog and miss the Greenville park runs, unlike any others.

I had hoped to see you guys yesterday in the park. I got to the pavilion just below the falls at about 6:15 on my bike, but you guys were probably already up to your elbows in wings and BPDs. Sounds like fun!

i'm sure he was more concerned about negative splits than wings and beer, right?

so i'll be on liquids all weekend. :( i wonder if i can put wings in a soup. yes, yes. i can let it simmer over night and then yippee i'll have liquid wings to eat over this weekend! and pizza?.... hmmmm

two of my sisters just moved to your neck of the woods. so wave to them from me if you run by. :)

How the heck do you all get your husbands to do this stuff? The only "exercise" mine does is flip the buttons on the remote or get up to grab a bag of chips LOL. Good luck to him on that tri!!

Ooohhhhhh you should not tempt me with an offer to pay back David LMAO!! How about possibly setting up a radio under his window at 4:40am in the morning set to blast out Sunglasses at Night or better yet We Built This City :P

Oh my, Marcy! You've now got that stupid song stuck in my head. I took dancing for many of my young years and we danced to that song. I was like 10, I think. anyhoo... running - yes, that's why we're here??

Wild Wings - yummy! Last night I had forgot about you guys going to the blues concert outside. Hope you, family, and sister had a great time!

It's so great that the two of you get to run together.

As for the gym membership, it is kind of a necessity for me as a triathlete. Hard to get a good swim in the bathtub, but I understand not wanting to spend the money if you don't have to.
