Dupont Trails

Saturday was the perfect day!! This weeks long run was a scheduled shorter distance so I roped my hubby into joining me for his first attempt at trail running. We get up and traveled to the State Park and within 10 minutes we are running. The plan was to run a mile and then take a short 2 or 3 minute walk break and then resume running. To my surprise we ran 7 of the 8 miles. He did fantastic and I was truly impressed. For anyone that trail runs you will know that this is very different from road running. You must stay 100% focused on your footing. The hills are much steeper and forget about stopping if you change your mind. Once you are out there you are committed to finish.

This was my first attempt at hills since my knee began talking to me a few weeks ago. Although it did whisper on some of the hills a quick stop to stretch seemed to help. I did make sure I brought my Tiger Tail with me this time. At mile 4 we filled up with fluids and a quick roll to quickly hit the trails to finish.

Following our run we headed to Hendersonville for lunch and a stop at our favorite Chocolate Shop. What a treat!!

Yes... we are finished!!! Thanks for joining me Scott. Hope it is not the last trail run for you!
Refreshing finish!!

Happy Running!
Robin

i'm so jealous you're back on the trails! :)

great hubby could join you and nice to see the tiger tail in action. you should actually send that photo to tiger tail and try to sell it to them. it's definitely brochure quality! ;)

Enjoyed running with you on the trails the other day. You are right, it is very different from the roads. No soreness - so that is good.

What would I do without you....

Love you.

Scott's had all that training pushing the mower around the yard, so I'm not surprised. LOL That's an awesome way to spend a Saturday, even if you had to run before it. Of course, I'm referring to eating treats in H'ville, not the silly running.
