A Solid Week

Wow what a week. Instead of taking a scheduled non running day on Monday I decided to push through it and shift all of my run days this week. This will give me a total rest day on Sunday. With this change it left me with 5 running days in a row. Training for an ultra distance is focusing on running on tired legs. This week I totally did this. In the heat, on the treadmill I just stayed focused and got the miles in. Sunday is going to be sooooo SWEET!!!!

Last 5 runs:

Saturday - 17 miles (trail)
Sunday - 7 miles (treadmill)
Monday - 4 miles (outdoor 100 degree heat)
Tuesday - 6 miles (treadmill) 2 miles (elliptical)
Wednesday - 6 miles (outdoor heat 100 degree heat)

So I sit here in my much deserved pj's and it is not even dark. Life is good.

Next week I will add back in the resistance training. Need to work on strengthening my entire body.

Great job! It sounds like the knee is holding up nicely. Strength training has definitely made all the difference for my running, so I agree in making it a priority.

You are going to rock those ultras!

COREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE which I know ure probably doing but as I read more reports in Ultra land, seems like a strong core really helps on the long asssssssss runs.

That's a LOT of running, but so is an ultra. Great job Robin. I know it's hard to run in that heat (although I'm spoiled right now), but you did it.

Hope you all are having a great couple of weeks - maybe see you next weekend!

:-)

Hey there! Sorry about the mia status. Your upbeat entries and optimistic outlook continues to inspire me ... and I need all that I can get right now ... the night before a 7 AM marathon.

People ... pray for me. Please.
