I have always thought it is crazy that after all of the miles and miles of training when you finally reach a point that you can begin tapering it is somewhat difficult and you long for what has become normal. Hanging on to these 50 plus mileage weeks over the past few months have been a challenge but I also know that dropping back to the 30 mile range is going to just be down right weird.
Over these next two weeks it will only be clean eating for this girl. No alcohol. No unnecessary sugar. No candy. This will be very difficult!! Now don't think I have gone completely off the deep end... this girl is not giving up her morning coffee. I have to have some comfort.
So in a nut shell I am getting my runs in. I am getting plenty of rest. I am scheduled for an hour massage to flush the legs on Thursday. I am ready.

I'd keep the candy and ditch the coffee, but that's just me. :D Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. You are very disciplined. CONGRATS. It will pay dividends!!
Yay! Catch up on some other stuff you've been meaning to do. Drive the taper crazies away!!!
Raising my coffee mug to you. :>)
How can you give up candy a week from Halloween? Now a day or 2 or 3 after Halloween makes sense. Just messing with ya. You're gonna rock that race, sure you're loving the taper now.
What's next? after the BIG A race?
We miss you guys!
No doubt! Candy right before Halloween...that's just pure evil. Good luck with the taper. Maybe it will be like nesting and you will get all your drawers/closets cleaned out and organized ;)
well, i'm making up for lost time, i'll drink some wine for you!
Enjoy the taper. We'll take care of the candy and booze for ya.
LMAO I'm with POM, I'll gladly take the job of consuming alcohol and sugars :-)
Awesome dedication, especially at this time of year. But at least when you can eat Halloween candy, it will be on sale!
:-)
