Hello Big Red

Say hello to my little friend.......

Elite Primo Fluid Elastogel Bike Trainer TS2106

(aka BIG RED)

I must admit that I have been holding out for this for a while and once I determined that I needed to take a few days off from running to rest the "talking knee" I hit the trainer like a mad woman on a mission. Since I do not wish to spend my days and nights at the gym I love having the option on riding at home. Man what a workout! I sweat like nobodies mama. It was great! A big thanks to Scott for purchasing it and to David for always having the knowledge of what to even look for. This baby rocks!

So the plan is to cross train/ weights/ and yoga until Thursday and then go for a short test run. I have a dreamy 1 hour deep tissue massage booked for Wednesday so that should benefit me as well. Also trying a heated yoga class on Tuesday. The room is heated above 90 degrees so it will be hot and sweaty for sure. And Marcy I do not plan on farting. You are too funny!

I'm hoping to get a trainer for my birthday this month. If the hubby doesn't come through, I'm going out to buy it myself the very next day. I'm just dying for one!

ROFLMAO HAHAHAHAA No!!! I didn't mean that YOU would fart, that other people might do it. You know, gotta be on the lookout for you! ;-) Although David did bring up a good point about the "area" sweat and other people. YIKES!

Oy, oy, oy that trainer looks scary. Better you to get on it than me :P

Well I hate my trainer, LOL. No I love the option but it's a yucky workout. Maybe I am just a wimp. Or maybe I need some good tv shows to watch while I ride. :>D

oh! you crack me up!! i have a love hate relationship with the trainer ... same as a treadmill - i like to be OUTSIDE actually moving through the world - but, that said - when the knee starts talking (and mine has been very chatty lately) - you gotta do what you gotta do. i usually watch a movie or seinfeld or MASH reruns, or i crank the tunes WAY up & sing at the absolute top of my lungs! hey! bring your bikes with you when you come to run the mini - we'll all go for a nice recovery ride the next day!! wink, wink.

That heated yoga class sounds very interesting! I am loving the trainer...it's always good to have lots of options :)

I'm with Lisa. I hate the trainer, but it does get the job done. I don't know what's worse - trainer or treadmill. Yes, I'm miss negativity.

I'm so glad you now have one and have that option. It's worth it!

Like the trainer & the nickname! Good luck w/ the x-training this week. I need to look at a deep tissue massage for my injuries as well. Make sure you drink plenty of water before, during & after your heated yoga class.

I may have to get a trainer, I guess it would work better if I had something other than a MTN bike. Chad in the AZ desert is also doing Yoga and seems to like it. I may have to give it a try.

Oooh nice! My husband and I have discussed getting a trainer for the house- can't wait to see how you like it. Enjoy! :)

And you are indeed smart for resting your knee. Way to listen to your body Robin!

Big Red is Awesome! Very cool! :) .. and your plan for a massage sounds lovely. I'm over due for one of those myself. Have fun!

...oh, and try not to stand near any sweaty hairy men in the heated yoga class!!! Otherwise it will be 90 mins of smelly torture!

If you were "Self Actualized" you wouldn't care if you farted or not.

I'm not there yet.

The trainer is a wonderful cross training tool. Helps on the times when you need to rest your footies..

Try the spinerval videos, great stuff if you run out of stuff to watch while riding your trainer.

Hey, it's good to be back!

I love my trainer way more than I love my treadmill, I am a Cycleops Magneto kinda guy although it's somewhat dull in innocuous grey! Is it me or is it just so easy to spin off for an hour than run on a treadmill for an hour, hey go figure???

Yes my "tweak" is the same as your "whisper".

I am not sure if you have a Garmin but if you do look into the Cadence Monitor for your bike, it's cheap and super cool and you can "virtual" race on it...I feel a post coming on!

Ok that's enough for now!
