Need A New Plan

I had not planned another post before this weekend but I had to….

More test to address the stomach issues and still no answers. The doctor has now ordered one more test and recommended two other additional tests on top of more lab work. When will this all stop and what if they never get to the bottom of what is going on. This along will the knee whispering is starting to get me down.

Come on… I just want simple things….

Run pain free without having to stop for multiple potty breaks.

Not to mention that my hour massage turned into almost 2 hours because I had so many issues. I just knew that my massage therapist would be able to tell that I have been practicing yoga and would be able to tell in my hamstrings etc. but instead all she kept saying was you poor thing. My legs… feet… neck… a total mess. So I went home and had a glass of wine to think about my plan of action.

I have to change something or else I will continue to open the door to Mr. Injury and I want no part of that. Did I mention that I have also gained 6 lbs. Where in the heck did that come from?? Sucks!!

So glad that we are getting away to the mountains for a fun run and relaxing weekend.

MONDAY I WILL HAVE A NEW PLAN.

Robin

The two hour massage sounds like it was painful, hope it helped you feel better in the long run. Have a good time this weekend!

You really are a fantastic runner. Don't let those things get you down! Nutrition is such a tricky thing. I don't think there is anything "wrong" with you. You just haven't found out what works for you yet. Try eating a burrito with jalepenos the next time your run a 30 miler :-) As you learn more and more and refine more and more, you'll figure it out...

Ahhh... Robin, just rest on it. Think about it over the relaxing weekend with Scott and you'll come up with something. I know all you want to do is run, so I feel for ya. ((hugs))

Have a great weekend!!!!!!

It's frustrating for sure. :<( I hope that this weekend you can relax and then come up with a great plan. I wouldn't take Wes' advice on this one. ;>)

Go and great relaxing weekend, the mountain air will clear those mountin' worries.

It's like Wes says you just need to find what works for you...although I can pretty much guarantee his kind suggestion is not it.

Sometimes during an injury phase, it helps to distancing oneself a bit from running. Not passion wise, but time pressure wise. You are training and running intensely and I think it's all still relatively new for you and your body.

Injuries can be “OK”. Don’t be afraid of them – it’s normal. Be happy the docs can’t find anything – after all it just might be mental. Ultra running is hard - give yourself time!

Enjoy your escape to the mountains! The fresh air and long run should be good for clearing your mind. Rest and relaxation are an important part of balance and fitness, too!

Usually it's when we are dealing w/ an injury that we realize that we may need to re-evaluate how we run. I know that you'll come up w/ something that works for you. I hope you had a good time in the mountains.

Wes hit it on the nose ... you're a fantastic runner. We all hit a few rough patches and eventually bounce back ... doesn't make the problems any less frustrating however.

Hang in there. Hope you get your test results back quickly.
