Back to the Roads

My third run of the week was on the roads on Saturday.  This would be my first in more than 4 weeks.  First mile felt foreign to my body.  Nothing about it was good.  I pushed on and hoped that it would soon pass.  Second mile was better but I noticed that I was going faster than my PT, Shari wanted me to.  I slowed a bit but by the third mile I just wanted to keep going.  I am continuing to stick with the build up plan but I know that I have a ton of work to do until I am back up to the 40 plus weekly mileage stage.

Run - 3.54 miles at 9:09 pace

Today Scott and I rode our longest ride to date.  The weather was perfect with temps holding at 55 degrees.  The wind gust were a killer but we managed to hold a pretty decent pace.  About 4 miles into the ride we make a turn and head for the country.  Low traffic with a some rolling hills were what we were in search of.  The ride was GREAT.   I am becoming more and more comfortable on the bike.  Still have lots to work on but I will get there.

Ride: 30.60 average pace of 15.4 mph

All in all it was a great weekend.  Looking forward to building on my running this week and joining the Tuesday night group ride again.

Live. Laugh. Play Hard.

Well, if you ever want to stop doing ultras you can always do Ironman, right? I hear AZ has a good one. I'll be more than happy to ring the cowbell for you, Lisa, David, and Mendy LOL

Sounds like a great weekend, glad to hear it's going well and from your tone you're enjoying it. From my experience it's going to feel a bit odd and will take a while before you find you feet, so to speak.

I'm very jealous you have a group ride, I was playing tag with another cyclist today and before I knew it we'd rolled through 10 miles or so.

Can you upload your rides to Motionbased.com from your Garmin and show us those hills? That's a great average pace, I was reduced to an average of 12 today, lots of climging...at least that's my execuse!

Here's to another good week.

Great job running out there and keeping everything in control. Hard to do sometimes.

More Mileage on the bike, woohoo, it will make you stronger and let you keep fit while building up again..
