Zoned In

First, A HUGE thanks for all of your kind words in regards to my son leaving for Marine basic training. These last few days have seemed more like a month but I am sure once we are able to send letters to him it will help pass the time.

My training this week has been dead on. I feel so focused and really zoned in on each run and workout. It is hard to explain but I know that this year is so different from last. I just feel stronger... both body and mind.

I have not been able to ride this week. Summer afternoon thunderstorms have botched that from happening. If it does not work out again today than I will load my bike on the trainer (aka Big Red) and ride for an hour or two. Friday is an off day.

This weekend I have a 14 mile trail run and I am looking forward to the time on the trails again. Another solo run for this girl. Scott will be in the State Park running the roads while I hit the trails. We purchased some hot dogs for lunch and plan on having a picnic for lunch. He comes up with the best ideas!!

Ugh, I HATE afternoon thunderstorms-they've been bad here too lately.

Mmmmmmm. Hot dogs. OK. How do you know he is REALLY running. If it was me, I'd be kicked back with a Sam Adams roasting me some weenies. Just sayin :-)

Great plans! I feel similarly as you with regard to this year being better than last. For me this year is so much better. Mentally especially but physically as well. I am much stronger this year.

Sounds like a great picnic plan. Don't listen to Wes! I'm sure he will REALLY be running. lol. :-)

It's thundering now!!!! Have fun on Saturday! I'll miss you. You go, girl and hit the trails hard--just watch out for those rocks and roots.

Love ya,
