A Little of This and That

Sometimes a post just needs to be random in thought….

· My swim dilemma (obsessing stage) has past for now. Thanks to all of you I feel I have a bit more time before I have to make a serious decision on what to do. Thankfully I do know how to swim and have a somewhat decent form from past years on a swim team growing up.
· I declared the day before Valentine’s Day as MAN DAY and gave Scott a surprise by taking the day off. After a movie, lunch, and a short afternoon nap the only thing we did not do was make it to the driving range to hit golf balls. Will fit that in this week.
· I had a serious overdose of sugar on Saturday. I completely caved once I saw that Scott had made me homemade Red Velvet cupcakes with heavenly mountains of frosting.
· I am teaching my youngest (15 year old) how to drive. The fact that I do not need to calm my nerves with a beer is a great sign. He is doing great!!
· Sunday Scott and I joined a group for a 30 mile ride. I think we have found the ONLY flat route here in Greenville. What a nice group of riders. Both of us felt like we could have gone forever.
· It has taken me weeks to figure out where my “wall” is on facebook. Funny but frustrating. My son has still not asked me to be his “friend”….lol!!
· I love the first day of the week. It always feels like a fresh start to a new week of workouts. Always excited to see what I can achieve or how I can change things up.

So with that it begins. What will my schedule hold for me this week? All I know is that after my sugar binge I will be staying far away from the scale this week. :)

Same thing here - huge sugar overdose on, V day! Glad you're not stressing too much about your swimming and had a great ride:-)

As a true friend, allow me to save you from the demons of sugar. I can be at your house in an instant to haul away any red velvet cake that is still taunting you...just let me know ;-)

And yes, you have plenty of time for swimming still so don't stress about it. At this point I would say you have enough time to swim, get good at it, start to resent it, avoid it, miss it and then then start the whole process over again...

You husband must have really appreciated man day! I don't know if I'll have enough guts to teach Morgan how to drive when the time comes. Sounds like a great weekend.

Yes, isn't it funny how surprised our husbands are when we take a day off to be with them? Truly, they deserve some pampering for what we put them through and what's ahead this year ;-)

Glad you had a nice weekend!

It's funny that you mention having to find flat to ride on...I have to work to find hills around here!

I have a love-hate relationship with Mondays... I like the fresh start but it also seems like so long til I can sleep in again. ;)

Glad to hear you had a nice rider with a great group!

omg. those sugar binges will kill you. i need to go into detox too. (too many conversation hearts)

There is no way I will be able to do the driving lesson thing! I am putting Steven on that duty - he has way more patience!!!

Oh my gawd! I'm going to DIE when I have to teach the kids to learn to drive. It's funny though because I taught my sister how to drive and I was cool with it. I guess I didn't care if she hurt herself (as well as me) or something :P

My 14 year old turns 15 in a few months. Since your already in practice maybe you'll want to keep up with the Driver Training School.

Thanks for the continued support and smacking me in the back of the head when I need it, which is frequently these days!

Sounds like you found a great group of riders. Have fun.

So funny. I just got a mental picture of you in the passenger seat sipping a bottle of beer to calm your nerves.
