This past weekend I took a break from training to visit my son and his wife at their Marine stationed base. I could build up the story of how my son talked me into going for a quick ride to get gas in his motor cycle only to pass several perfectly good stations before pulling into one MILES down the road. I yelled and carrying on the entire way to the gas station. I have never been more scared in my life. It was not that he was doing anything extra to scare me it was just that… I felt completely out of control and just wanted OFF. Needless to say they all got a kick out of my freak out moment.
So now that I am back and rested I am ready to ramp the miles up again. If all goes according to plan I will likely hit 250ish for the week. We will see.

haha sounds like a blast! :D
That is some serious mileage. I think my butt would be numb by the end of the week
Motorcycles scare the crap out of me. You're brave for getting on!
That's not the kind of bike we like :-) Donor-cyle! :-(
So.....I take it a Motorcycle is not in your future?
So funny, but glad you made it back safe.
That's really funny Robin! I fully understand where you are coming from. However, I am a big fan of motorcycles and have logged over 120,000 miles on them.
Once, I got pulled over and the bike was not registered (bad JD!) - they impounded it and I had to ride back home on the back of my friend's bike (something like 80 miles of twisty curvy roads). This was a guy who I occasionally would ride next to and purposely bump into and we would just laugh - full and complete confidence in his riding ability.
I WAS TERRIFIED for the same reason you state - I felt totally out of control. Yours is a fun story though - glad you made it through.
On the bicycle side...aren't we on taper now?
I'm terrified of motorcycles too, so I feel ya.
Amazing mileage lately, I'm in awe! Keep up the great work!! :)
damn kids -- ( as my dad would say- lol about me)
Nice ride and glad u had fun and were so vocal :-)
Oh boy, yes, that must have been awful. I never tried riding and I'm not interested in it at all.
Made me smile :-)
I see your son has a rocket there, probably good for 120+. Think how fast you could cover 250 in that!
Glad he went easy on you ;-)
Totally get the control thing. Same reason as a private pilot I HATE stepping onto a commercial flight. If THAT idiot screws up......
Love that picture!! Loved talking to you yesterday!! You are a brave mama!!
Hugs,
Susan
Yes, I've ridden on the back of a motorcycle before and know that feeling of not having control. Takes some getting used to. Don't think I could ever be a stoker on a tandem either!
that is funny. i don't like those crotch rockets (that's what they call those kinds of bikes) but i used to love to ride harley's.
LOL! I can understand the freak out moment!
I would love to get in that many miles! Good for you!
