Measurable Improvements

We all want them. We all know that if we only put the time and work in we will get them. Sweat…. Focus….and a small bit of Crying are sometimes the right combination in getting them. What a reward!

After finishing up WEEK 5 on Sunday I sat down last night and began looking at some of the numbers.

For example –

SWIM - each set is 10 -15 seconds faster than when I began and the recovery is noticeably faster than when I started.

BIKE – the prescribed rpm’s are easier to maintain for longer periods and I am even seeing improvements in the stupid one-legged drills. Two hours on the trainer is nothing.

RUN – I am FINALLY nailing the prescribed HR zones and even tackled my first set of run drills this past weekend (hill repeats, butt kicks, and high knees).

So like that I close out week FIVE already and move onto another week ahead.

Truly my biggest discovery so far is realizing how very important a good attitude effects your training. Mine is just where it needs to be!

This week I will be doing a 5k all-out so that we can check and make sure my HR zones are still correct. Last time I did this was back in the Fall and so it is time to run my butt off again. I must admit I am interested to see if any changes comes from this. Next week will be the bike HR zone check. They are different people. :)

Thanks for the awesome comments!

Robin

I'd be happy to sleep a couple of hours a day for you Robin - just tack it onto the 16 hrs I'm doing already. No problem. Happy to help! :D

Keep up the great work!

I agree with BDD, attitude really is everything.

But I disagree with you that a 2 hour trainer ride is nothing. I just can't get past 90 minutes inside.
