Next Phase

GHS Every Woman Team (Bakery Ride with some awesome ladies!)

I find that I look at my plan a thousand times studying the week ahead. Beyond that is the unknown but the week ahead is planned in my head and on paper to the day. Base/Preparation phase completed as I now enter into the Aerobic Phase for the next 7 weeks.

This morning called for a 5am Trainer session and this afternoon will be a swim session. Over the past 11 weeks I have spent countless hours on the trainer. These workouts are all written to the minute in detail. Having faith that all of this saddle time will actually produce measurable results once on the road was a big question in my head… until yesterday. After riding with some of the girls on our team as well as our hubbies I was very pleased with the data retrieved from my Garmin. The trainer is making a positive difference!

Trainer mix for this morning:

10 min easy spin warm up
1 x 5 minute TT effort in low zone 3 (2 min recovery)
1 x 10 minute TT effort in high zone 3 (2 min recovery)
1 x 15 minute TT effort in low zone 4 (2 minute recovery)
12 minute spin to complete session low zone 3

Swim Session this afternoon:

1800 meters with drill sets as well as endurance sets

Perfect way to kick off a new week!
