Feeling Good

I feel so good today. Really good in a strange way like I just won the lottery or I am leaving for a long vacation at any moment kind of good.

Last nights run was awesome. Instead of constantly looking at my Garmin watch I decided just to go with what my feet wanted to do. I headed out of the neighborhood with just enough time to get 3 or so miles in before cycle class at the Y. The heat was turned up but did not seem to bother me at all today. In fact I enjoyed how hot I was the entire time I was running. Mostly this was a flat route with two slightly steep hills. Before I knew it I was at the Y with just enough time for a quick stretch before cycle. 3.37 miles at an 8:36 pace. It felt great!! One hour of cycle and I was back on the road for a short run back to the house. Great way to save on gas.

Tonight I will take as a rest day. Not that I want to but mom and wife duties call so I must report to them. Concert at my son’s school along with a project that he needs to completed by tomorrow. It will be a busy night for sure.

One last note…. In less than 3 hours from now I will be enter the gates of heaven for an hour massage. Oh life is SO good!!

Tomorrow I have a 20 miler at noon, quick shower, and then leaving town for camping for the weekend. I will post a report of the run and camping when I return. Pictures will be included.

I love how casually you say "a 20 miler at noon". As if you're just gonna knock it out real quick like the rest of us would go get milk and eggs at the store. You rock.

You didn't mention your "wife duties"...does that mean there will be a little "huh, huh" tonight?

You really looked great last night when you got home....I new you had a good run when I saw you. I could see it in your eyes....then BAM ! ! ! Greasy Tacos Baby ! !!

I find that a great work out like that is from the right combination and amount of food consumed just prior.

Can you take a guess as to what might have did it for you?

Robin, what a pace, good job on just enjoying the run, not looking at the Garmin - taking in the heat, which means summer is here! Love your run report. I've got to get back to the cycle class, miss it! :-(

David, I couldn't have said it better.... She rocks!!

I'm jealous of the massage, I got one last week and didn't want to come home :-X

Hi Robin, thanks for stopping by. Sounds like you had a great run, wish I could turn in the same kind of times...one day. Hope you enjoy the massage...they are great.
I do have two HM's in the future for this fall...Durango, CO in October and Tulsa, OK in November, followed up with Dallas in December...Dallas may very well be my first full marathon...and if not there then definitely Houston in January '08 with my brother.

Maybe you can give me a little of your hot weather and I'll trade it to you for a little of my "snowing and 38" and that would average to perfect running weather!

Congrats on the new shoes. I'm sure they'll last longer than the Nikes. Best of luck with your 20 miler, sounds like fun.
