I am taking a quick break to post my update from last nights run. It was fantastic and pain free. Since I was scheduled to run 4 miles I could not resist to continue running once that goal had been met. At 5 miles I still was pain free and one happy girl!! I ended the run with a short cool down and then tackled 2 motion miles on the elliptical to complete my workout.
I continue to ice and roll the heck out of my legs in the morning, in the afternoon and before and after I run. After locating a knot in my upper quad area I could actually tell it was a little different last night and not near as sore as it was in the beginning. I do still manage to get a good laugh out of my husband every time I start rolling. At this point I would consider witch craft to get back to solid running.
I still have 6, 8, 20, and 10 mile runs left this week and am hopeful that I will do well. Moving forward it better than not moving at all.

woo hoo! good news. as for your tiger tail, which i think is much like my "stick" -- good for self massage, but sometimes, it's nice to have someone else do it ... i always get a good laugh out of my husband when i say "honey, will you stick me?" ...

Very Happy Robin that ur grinding out that knot, pretty soon u won't feel anything when you roll ur legs...but that's no excuse to stop-lol
Funny, funny! Bob isn't really a quack now, is he? LOL...
Yahoo for witchcraft and other fine remedies!
Good job on the pain free run!
You mean most people don't use witchcraft?????
Good luck on the rest of your runs this week!
Before I had my roller I used to use the rolling pin! One day my DH walked in and goes "out of all the weird things I have seen you do since running, THAT is the weirdest." Whatever it takes! Glad you could run pain free!
I have a knot now in my calf (from stupid step aerobics mon night) - we bought the stick from CT and I'll be sticking it tonight...
Glad your runs are now becoming pain free!!! :-)
Glad to hear you are feeling better. You and Bob are beginning to make me think that there might be something to this sorcery of yours...I might just have to try it. Just don't tell Bob. ;-)
